FAQs

Whether you're considering propane for the first time or have used it for years, it's normal to have questions. We've answered some of the ones we hear most often.

  • What's the difference between Automatic Delivery and Will Call?

Automatic Delivery is the standard option for Gas Works customers and the easiest way to stay supplied. We keep track of your propane needs and schedule deliveries for you, so you don't have to remember to place an order.

With Will Call, you monitor your own tank level and contact us when you're ready for a delivery.

  • Can I switch to Gas Works from another propane company?

Absolutely. We'll make the switch as easy as possible by taking a look at your current propane setup and walking you through what needs to happen next.

We'll confirm details like tank ownership and make sure everything is properly permitted, compliant, and safe before your first delivery. If your tank belongs to another propane company, we'll explain the next steps and help make sure the transition is handled the right way.

  • What's involved in converting from oil to propane?

Every home is different, so we start by looking at your current system and talking about what you want propane to do in your home. From there, we'll help determine the right tank, equipment, and installation setup and walk you through the conversion process.

Making the switch can also open up new ways to use propane throughout your home. Beyond heating, propane can power your hot water, cooking appliances, fireplace, generator, and more, giving you the flexibility to get more from one fuel source.

Gas Works specializes in oil-to-propane conversions and can help you understand the process before you decide whether making the switch is right for you.

  • Do I own or lease my propane tank?

It depends on the type of installation. Gas Works typically leases above-ground propane tanks, while underground tanks are purchased by the customer.

If you already have a tank and aren't sure who owns it, we can help you determine that as part of the process of switching to Gas Works.
